YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
At this appointment not only will your teeth and related structures be examined but we get to know the patient while we are at it. Here you are not just another dental patient: you are a person who can feel safe and assured that we are doing everything in your best interest and trust our treatment recommendations.
Want to see what our treatment room looks like?
We will first require you to fill in a history sheet. Click here to receive a copy of our form which you can complete prior to your visit. We ask you to come in 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so that the necessary paperwork can be completed and your time with Dr Brown can be maximised.
Before the examination begins Dr Brown will thoroughly review your Medical and Dental history as well as any other personal issues.
Prior to your teeth being examined your facial muscles, joints and glands will be checked. Inside your mouth your gums, teeth and tissues of the mouth will be looked at. An oral cancer check will also be done.
After your teeth have been examined we usually photograph the teeth with a digital mini video and conventional digital cameras. If necessary impressions of the teeth will be taken. The exam is concluded by the taking of x-rays – a scan of the whole jaw to check for any abnormalities as well as individual x-rays of groups of teeth.
If time allows and the treatment required is not too complex, you will have a discussion with Dr Brown to discuss your treatment needs. You will be given printed material relating to proposed treatment, brochures as well as a cost estimate. Otherwise a separate complimentary consultation a week later will be booked.
This visit will take something in the region of one hour and the fee will be between $242 - $320 depending on what is required.
